Dominion

Man's greatest latent desire: to dominate others, to see them kneeling, prostrate at their feet in submission, begging for mercy to spare their lives. Power, the bread of the poor and the opium of the rich, openly desired by some and ritually flaunted by those who wield it. There are no injured parties, no losers or winners; in the end, only the nakedness of pure abstinence remains. An abstinence born from the addiction to power's obsession.

Power is the exercise of the victorious, those who have all the advantages in a society marred by injustices, oppression, and inequalities benefiting the few at the expense of the many. Its consequences are still observed and paid for today in post-modernity, where amidst luxurious skyscrapers and endless enchanting lights, the cries and screams of the downtrodden and destitute linger. The dominance of the few over the many, who without any mercy or remorse, hesitate not to sacrifice everything dear to them to obsessively preserve that small burden that tears and consumes their master from within. The abstract concept of domination finds its concretization in the manifestation of a chilling and insidious shadow, mysterious and gloomy, towering over the immense populace subordinate to its whims, ready to spring like a coil at the mere sound of imperative command, akin to an infant's demand, expecting their irrational will to be immediately satisfied. A populace uneducated and devoid of the noble gift of judgment is blinded by fear and terror at the prospect of vile punishment upon hearing even a hint of discord. The only solution left is to march towards their predetermined destiny as servile beings, devoid of will, with no possibility of rebelling against the nefarious power they are subjected to serve. The same power that is learned to be hated, but by its nature, is envied and contested by the soul of all men. The central figure in the artwork embodies the pure nature and austerity of power, possessing a dual tendency of which one is creative and the other destructive, annihilating itself in a chaotic and degenerate context, where absurdity reigns and total lack of control prevails.
